Welcome to Open Line Group Homes,

Open Line Group Homes, Inc. is a private, 501 (C) 3 nonprofit corporation that provides services for youth and their families. These youth are considered at-risk and have been placed in Group Home by their respective counties. Open Line is licensed by the Department of Social Services to provide these services. Our therapists are able to discuss, plan and receive guidance, thereby providing the best practice therapy for the youth placed with Open Line. Training for all staff is an integral practice of the agency, and a philosophy we embrace, so as to provide the very best strength-based treatment for our youth. Further, we pride ourselves on our excellent service record, as well as our working relationship with Community Care Licensing.

Open Line Group Homes is dedicated to providing a safe, caring environment for children in need. We have been licensed since 1988 by the State of California Community Care Licensing.

Open Line has four, 6 bed RCL 12 Group Homes, three of which serve boys and one that serves girls. Open Line is licensed to provide treatment services for ambulatory children, ages 13-17 and ambulatory non-minor dependents, ages 18-19. The program has 9 levels. Our outcome statistics show that successful youth complete the program in about 9 months.

Youth participate in individual counseling and therapeutic groups including:

  • Anger Management,
  • Independent Living Skills,
  • Substance Dependency/Drug and Alcohol,
  • Family dynamics and parenting.

Each resident cycles through these groups during their program at Open Line.

Open Line residents participate in many activities provided by the agency including, cycling, visual arts, camping and outdoor activities among others. We believe that providing such activities enable the youth to experience exercise and social enhancing activities that they would not otherwise experience.

We strive to have each child in mainstream education, using services offered by Shasta County Office of Education. Our desire is to give each child a chance to succeed:

  • Personally
  • Academically
  • Vocationally
  • Socially

It is the purpose of Open Line to restore the entire child and provide a sense of hope for all of those we touch, including their families. These families, through past experiences, have become fragmented and overwhelmed with their circumstances. Often times, they are desperate to receive services that will restore the entire family unit. Therefore, it is our mission to purposefully restore the entire family, thereby providing a safe and stable family system. Open Line seeks to meet the needs of the whole child: emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Open Line receives placements from the greater Northern California counties typically from the South Bay Area & north to the Oregon border.
